Chapter 16 – The Dog in the Well (Essen, Germany)
Eddie gets caught in a bombing raid. He doesn’t have time to reach a bunker, so jumps into a well. He is soon joined by the farmers’ dog. Phosphoric bombs are being dropped, the dog gets scared and leaps out. He does not survive.
