Chapter 3 – Eddie’s father goes to Germany (Łącko, Poland)
Eddie receives papers to go to Germany to work, but the family decide is it best that Jan should go instead, as Eddie will be able to help his mother on the farm. Jan goes to work in Germany, along with his brother.
